Ok, so I’m just going through the weaning phase right now and, as its my first, I am doing everything by the book, literally. I have heard that second, third or fourth babies get McD’s pureed but this is my first so I’m sticking with the organic, home-made stuff.
Anyway, I have bought a selection of books, but the one that I need to vent about is Annabel Karmel! OMG, yes I’m sure the recipes are amazing beyond belief, I mean they sound like something I’d serve at a dinner party, obviously un-pureed, but its a joke. She uses a different pan for everything! Everything says ‘now set this aside’ and get a new pan or bowl. Please tell me what new mom has the time or strength for that amount of washing up? I want to do the best for my baby and that to me means spending time with the little one and/or resting as much as possible when I can, not washing up 50 million pots and pans! You think I’m joking? Go and have a look. The food sounds great but the preparation is beyond ridic.
Please let me know of any decent weaning books you’ve used as this one is going at the very back of my cupboard… Vent over.
