Why should I have to pay £500 for school bus transport for the post 16 studies of my son? Surely he should be allowed to continue to use the transport without charge especially as the council do not supply adequate public transport alternatives in our area. Where is the reward for continuing to study and the incentive to improve yourself to avoid unemployment? Perhaps my son should just do nothing and claim benefits at a considerably greater cost? I look forward to the backlash next September when pupils are compelled to continue studies unless they secure a job or apprenticeship and parents will be expected to pay transport costs for a Government initiative.
