Here in the UK we have had a couple of days where the sun has broken through the clouds!
Great! I hear you say. Well, yes – it’s ok – insofar as it makes everyone feel that bit better and the days are somehow nicer when the rain and cold stay away.
However – a bit of sun comes with the sights you just don’t want to see – pale legs and arms on display, in the desperate attempt to get a tan. Little piggy faces coming into work after a weekend of lying in the sun baking with a pathetic ‘I didn’t realise how hot it was’. It’s the sun – that big orange things in the sky that burns at a million plus degrees???? It’s called sun – it burns your skin.
On a serious note – having seen friends die of melanoma – it makes me sick to see this ‘dying for a tan’ attitude. Think about what you’re doing to your skin. And remember this – melanoma does not have a cure — NO CURE. Before you reach for your Factor 1 burning oil – think about it.
