I bought a wireless extender so that I can use the internet in all rooms of the house and not just when I’m just up close to the router in my office at home. Even though, I might add, we did buy the apparently ‘best router’ when we set it up?! Suppose to have so many metres coverage, it said. Well my house isn’t that big and it doesn’t work everywhere.
I enquired about this when I returned to the shop I had bought it in. They don’t like these big walls I was told. Sorry? Don’t most houses have walls?? Apart from studio apartments I don’t know of many houses without these ‘novel’ walls?
So anyway I forked out for yet another gadget, a wireless extender. Easy to implement it said. Well, after half a day spent trying to set it up, I gave up and phoned the helpline and the ‘easy to implement’ turned out to be a challenge for even Einstein I’m sure. There was no way that I could have done that from the instructions. Hey ho, it was done and plugged into the hall.
Wow! I can now use it when balanced with half a bum cheek on the couch in the lounge whilst trying to avoid any contact with one of those wall things. Joy. Another great waste of money. Think I’ll just stick to sitting in my office…
